Le Clou 34 Domaine Henri Naudin Ferrand
Le Clou 34 is Claire Naudin’s bold and brilliant reinterpretation of Aligoté, Burgundy’s often overlooked white grape. Grown in the Côte de Nuits-Villages area, near Corgoloin, on shallow clay-limestone soils, this wine stands as a testament to the potential of high-altitude terroirs and artisanal winemaking.
The vineyard includes parcels planted as early as 1934, with the majority of vines over 45 years old. East-facing, low-yielding, and farmed sustainably, the grapes are hand-harvested and pressed whole-cluster. Fermentation and malolactic occur naturally, with no sulfites added during vinification. The wine is aged for a long period on fine lees, and bottled without filtration — only a touch of sulfites is used before bottling.
In the glass, Le Clou 34 surprises: passion fruit aromas, a dense and energetic palate, and a vibrant salinity that lingers long. This is not your average Aligoté — it’s a white wine with soul, built for the table and for aging. Perfect with dishes like marinated scallops, spring asparagus, or a crab and mango crumble for the adventurous.
