Sancerre Blanc “Florès” 2019 Vincent Pinard
The Sancerre Blanc “Florès” 2019 by Vincent Pinard is one of the most refined and authentic expressions of Sauvignon Blanc in the Loire Valley. Grapes come from vineyards located in the terroirs of Bué, between 240 and 275 meters of altitude, with an average vine age of 35 years. Planted on caillottes (limestone pebbles typical of Sancerre), Kimmeridgian and Oxfordian soils, the vines yield wines of remarkable freshness and mineral complexity.
Viticulture is conducted with the utmost respect for the environment, following 100% organic and biodynamic practices: no herbicides, manual soil work, and controlled yields of 50 hl/ha. Harvesting is done by hand in perforated crates to preserve grape quality.
Winemaking emphasizes purity and terroir expression: no sulfur added to the must, long pneumatic pressing, indigenous yeast fermentations, and 7–9 months of aging in wooden vats. Wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered, potentially leaving a light natural deposit, a sign of authenticity.
In the glass, the “Florès” 2019 shines bright straw-yellow, with aromas of fresh citrus, white flowers, orchard fruits, and subtle mineral nuances from the limestone soils. On the palate, it is precise, vibrant, and long, perfectly balancing freshness and structure.
A classic Loire white wine, ideal with seafood, shellfish, grilled fish, or Loire goat cheeses. Vincent Pinard’s “Florès” embodies the purity of Sauvignon Blanc and the finesse of a great terroir.
