Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes by Fanny Sabre is a marvelous expression of precision and delicacy. This wine hails from the exceptional terroir of Meursault, situated to the south and bordering Puligny-Montrachet, just below the 1er Cru Perrieres. The Charmes plot spans 0.2 hectares, with vines over 50 years old. The soil consists of classic calcareous clay with deep layers of limestone and some gravel, providing excellent exposure and drainage.
The production of this wine follows an artisanal process. Grapes are handpicked, pressed, and spontaneously fermented in barrels, then aged in large barrels and pièces for 12 months. The result is a wine with a magnificent bouquet of ripe fruit on the nose. On the palate, there's a sensation of freshness with pleasing amplitude, characterized by a rich and creamy succulence of fruit, supported by well-integrated wood. It's an elegant and refined Meursault, capable of expressing all the power, depth, and complexity typical of this prestigious terroir.
