Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil “La Source” 2024 Domaine Yannick Amirault
The Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil “La Source” 2024 comes from sandy and gravel terraces surrounding the village of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, on the right bank of the Loire River. These well-draining and early-ripening soils represent the lightest and most vibrant terroirs of the estate, enhancing the purity and freshness of Cabernet Franc. The vines average 45 years of age and are cultivated organically with full soil tillage and meticulous manual work.
The 2024 vintage was cool and demanding, yielding small volumes with delicate yet fully achieved ripeness. The result is a classic Loire expression: bright, clear and finely structured.
Harvesting is entirely manual with double grape selection and destemming without crushing. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in open vats with gentle maceration for about three weeks. The wine then rests discreetly in large oak vats for 5 to 10 months, preserving fruit purity and textural balance.
On the nose it reveals crunchy red berries, floral nuances and subtle herbal hints typical of Cabernet Franc. The palate is tonic, juicy and refined, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Designed for immediate pleasure, it can be enjoyed now through 2029.
