List of products by brand BROGLIA
Broglia Winery is a benchmark estate in the Gavi DOCG region. Founded in 1972 by Bruno Broglia with the acquisition of the historic La Meirana estate, it now owns 65 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Gavi.
Known for combining tradition and innovation, the Broglia family has brought the Cortese grape to new heights, thanks to partnerships with renowned enologist Donato Lanati and leading Italian universities. Stainless steel vinification, vineyard precision, and a dedication to quality make Broglia a reference point in Italian white winemaking.
MoreThe Broglia Winery, based at the historic La Meirana estate, is one of the most iconic producers in the Gavi DOCG appellation. It all began in 1972, when Comm. Bruno Broglia, a successful textile entrepreneur and wine enthusiast, acquired the estate from Count Edilio Raggio with the vision of elevating Gavi’s reputation.
Before La Meirana, Broglia had already restored a villa in Gavi, enlisting architects Luigi Vietti and Pietro Porcinai to create a refined retreat with a vineyard enclosed by medieval walls—now home to the “Villa Broglia” wine. But La Meirana became the true heart of the project.
In 1974, his son Piero took over, and in the same year the first Broglia wine was bottled, just as Gavi received DOC status. After Bruno’s passing, the winery was expanded in 1983 (designed by Vietti), and vineyard holdings were enlarged to the current 65 hectares under vine, the largest single estate in Gavi.
Broglia has always championed innovation, working closely with top researchers like Donato Lanati, a member of the OIV, and Attilio Scienza from the University of Milan. Their joint work included the selection of Cortese clones, early research on sulfite-free white winemaking, and optimization of fermentation to highlight the minerality and freshness of Gavi. Since the 1980s, Broglia has used exclusively stainless steel tanks.
Today, the third generation of the Broglia family – Roberto, Filippo, and Bruno – continue to manage the winery, which is structured into specialized zones for grape reception, vinification, stainless steel and bottle aging, including the production of Metodo Classico sparkling wines.
With award-winning labels like “Bruno Broglia” and “La Meirana”, the Broglia winery is a symbol of authentic Gavi and a leader in premium Italian white wine on the global stage.
