Pinot Noir "Mammoth" 2016 Mammoth Wines

The 2016 Pinot Noir "Mammoth" is a red wine produced in New Zealand by Mammoth Wines. Made according to organic farming principles, where no artificial irrigation is carried out in the vineyard to allow the grapes to preserve their original character, this wine ferments spontaneously with 100% whole cluster, then matures in 1/3 new barrels for 12 months and another 12 months in older barrels.

The Mammoth Pinot Noir is a special wine where the fruit is allowed to express itself in its fullness and authenticity: a dark and brooding Pinot with fabulous depth, power and length. The balance benefits from a lovely softness and a silky tannic texture. An absolutely brilliant expression of superior Moutere Hills Pinot Noir that will be even better with time in bottle.
