Barbera d'Asti superiore Lequilibrio 2018 is a red wine produced by Montalbera. The 100% Barbera grapes come from the different Barbera vineyards that are part of the large plot of 100 hectares of vineyards surrounding the estate in Castagnole Monferrato.

The name Equilibrio derives from the fact this wine is aged partly in barrique, partly in tonneau and then in large French oak casks for a period which can vary from 10 to 15 months according to the vintage.

This is followed by a period of aging in bottle in horizontal position. This Barbera d'Asti superiore is characterized by a great balance, complexity and longevity given by the aging in three different woods. Intense ruby red in color, it expresses aromas of wild berries in jam, aromas of underbrush and hints of cocoa and chocolate, for a harmonious and pleasing sip supported by good acidity and well blended tannins.
