Pinot Noir Yarden 2019 Golan Heights Winery
The Yarden Pinot Noir by Golan Heights Winery is one of the finest Israeli interpretations of the noble Burgundian grape variety. It comes from the Golan Heights, the coolest and most prestigious wine-growing area of Galilee, widely considered the best region in Israel for premium wines. Vineyards are planted at altitudes between 400 and 1,200 meters above sea level, on volcanic soils that lend minerality and depth, while the cold winters – often with snow – create ideal conditions for cultivating Pinot Noir.
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red color. The nose is refined and layered, with vibrant notes of raspberries and cranberries, delicate floral hints of violet, and subtle spicy nuances. The wine is aged for 16 months in mostly new French oak barrels, which enriches the bouquet with touches of vanilla, toast, and sweet spices, always enhancing rather than masking the varietal character.
On the palate, the Yarden Pinot Noir reveals a medium body, excellent balance between freshness and smoothness, silky tannins and a long, persistent finish.
