Paleo Magnum 2004 Le Macchiole
Perhaps the most expressive label from the Tuscan winery Le Macchiole, the Paleo Magnum 2004 is a red wine of great intensity, elegance and character. The label began as a classic Bordeaux blend and in 2001 became a pure Cabernet Franc, and it was precisely the less simple path of exploiting the single variety that decreed the winery's success.
The undisputed symbol of Le Macchiole, the Toscana IGT Paleo Magnum 2004 ferments with maceration in stainless steel tanks for 20 days and then matures in 100% new barriques for 16 months.
A wine of incredible intensity and elegance, Le Macchiole Paleo 2004 in Magnum version expresses a beautiful ruby red colour with evident garnet reflections. The refined and intense nose offers an evolved bouquet of small red fruits in jam such as blueberries and raspberries, followed by spicy notes of pepper, balsamic notes of liquorice and enriched by a touch of aromatic herbs. The sip, more austere in its youth, gives after more than 15 years of aging a great taste-olfactory balance: complex and enveloping is enlivened by a touch of freshness and ends with an endless trail in the mouth.
