Chambertin Grand Cru 2002 Domaine J. & J.Louis Trapet
Grand Cru Chambertin is one of the spearheads of Domaine Trapet Père et Fils, a wine of inestimable value and complexity. The Grand Cru vineyard was acquired by the Trapet family in 1919, and since that moment they never stopped working on it in order to achieve absolute excellence. The terroir in this area has a complex geological composition: the deepest part is of marl-calcareous matrix with a lot of clay on the surface, while the upper part is much richer in marl, which gives great balance to the wine. Intense and deep ruby red color, it expresses on the nose aromas of red fruits such as currant and plum, followed by mineral notes, underbrush, leather and spices. The palate is extraordinarily balanced, round and fresh at the same time, with a silky and very persistent tannin.
