Description

Gevrey-Chambertin "Ostrea" 2009 Domaine J. & J.Louis Trapet

"In Gevrey, the lines of the landscape grow, strip and simplify into an austere scale. The vineyard becomes an immense continuous layer. From the mountain, from its fallow, its rocks, its chaignots, descend the regular slopes, with a loyal and gentle movement as if nature scanned them with human gesture. On these great bare stretches, the rising sun imposes its virtue and its glory. And it is on these stony, sunny slopes, where the first marls with "Ostrea Acuminata" and the first Jurassic rocks emerge, rich in red iron salts, that the grands crus, the pride of the Burgundy vineyard, have settled." Gaston Roupnel

This Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea 2009 is a Cuvée composed of Pinot Noir grapes from the estate's oldest vineyards: an intense and deep territorial red Burgundy wine. The wine shows a ruby red color with garnet hues, while the nose offers hints of red fruit and violet petals. The sip is balanced and full-bodied, thanks also to an important tannic texture and the gluttony of the fruit which makes it more enjoyable.
