Moulin a Vent Chassignol 2011 Domaine Jules Desjourneys

Moulin a Vent Chassignol 2011 is a red wine from Beaujolais in Burgundy, produced by Domaine Jules Desjourneys. It is made from Gamay grapes from vineyards over 90 years old in the renowned Moulin a Vent area. All the processing stages are followed with the utmost care and respect for the terroir: the grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard, after which spontaneous fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts with their own stalks. After this phase, the wine is aged in barriques for 24 months. After this stage, the wine is aged in barriques for 24 months. The Moulin a Vent Chassignol 2011 has a beautiful intense ruby colour; the nose is dominated by notes of red fruits, flowers and spices. On the palate, the wine shows sweet and persuasive fruit, well-presented tannins where softness keeps it in balance but only time will make this balance perfect, notes of spices, herbs and fruit again. A great red wine that authentically reflects the terroir of Beaujolais.
