Lugana 2022 Guerrieri Rizzardi
The Lugana 2022 originates from one of Italy’s most renowned white wine areas: San Benedetto di Lugana, in the municipality of Peschiera del Garda. The vineyards here are located on flat lands, with soils particularly rich in white clay and calcareous layers, giving the wines their distinctive freshness, minerality and structure.
The blend is composed mainly of Trebbiano di Lugana (90%), complemented by small percentages of Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay. Vines are trained with guyot and pergola systems, planted at a density of 4,500 vines per hectare. With an average age of 25 years, they provide grapes of balanced concentration and aromatic depth. The harvest is carried out mechanically with modern precision equipment to ensure efficiency and fruit integrity.
In the cellar, grapes are destemmed, gently pressed under reduced oxygen conditions, and vinified in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures (15–16°C). Alcoholic fermentation lasts 10–12 days, followed by 2–3 months of aging on fine lees in stainless steel and cement tanks, enhancing the wine’s texture and aromatic complexity.
In the glass, Lugana 2022 displays a bright straw-yellow color. The bouquet is intriguing and expressive, with aromas of blossoming flowers, ripe peach and subtle citrus nuances. On the palate it is smooth and enveloping, with concentrated fruit, a refreshing vein of minerality and a long, elegant finish.
This versatile white wine is best enjoyed young but also has short to medium aging potential. It pairs excellently with seafood dishes, grilled fish, pasta with shellfish, and fresh or soft cheeses.
