The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva “Villa Rizzardi” by Guerrieri Rizzardi represents the excellence of Valpolicella winemaking, produced only in the finest vintages from the estate’s oldest vineyards in the heart of the Classico area. The grapes – Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone, Sangiovese and Barbera – are carefully hand-harvested and naturally dried in wooden crates for 3 to 5 months in the estate’s traditional lofts, concentrating sugars and aromas.
After fermentation in steel and malolactic fermentation in oak, the wine matures for about 12 months in barriques and 24 months in large French oak casks, achieving remarkable balance and complexity.
In the glass it displays deep and intense notes of blackberries, cherries and plums, enhanced by hints of sweet spices, cocoa and balsamic tones. On the palate it is powerful yet refined, with velvety tannins and impressive length, underlining its exceptional capacity to age gracefully for more than a decade. A noble, full-bodied Amarone, perfect with braised beef, venison or wild boar, spicy dishes and long-aged cheeses.
