The Kerner 2022 from Abbazia di Novacella is a white wine that captures the alpine essence of South Tyrol. Kerner is a modern hybrid variety, a cross between Riesling and Schiava, that has found ideal growing conditions in the cool, mineral-rich slopes of the Isarco Valley.
The vineyards are located between 600 and 900 meters above sea level, where cool nights and sunny days encourage slow ripening and aromatic intensity. After harvest, the grapes are fermented and aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the wine’s crispness and vivid aromas.
In the glass, it shines a bright straw yellow. The nose offers notes of white peach, melon, wildflowers, sage, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is zesty and saline, with a refreshing mineral finish. A versatile wine for seafood starters, Asian-inspired dishes, or light white meats.
