Crémes 2008 Gaja
Crémes by Gaja is a red wine that expresses a less conventional side of the renowned Langhe-based winery. The name “Crémes” comes from the Piedmontese dialect and refers to “crimson”, the vivid red of ancient silk, directly linked to the wine’s youthful appearance, characterized by bright ruby-red tones with purple reflections.
Produced from an equal blend of Dolcetto and Pinot Noir, it represents a dialogue between local tradition and international elegance. Dolcetto contributes fruit-driven immediacy, while Pinot Noir adds finesse, aromatic complexity and a more refined structure.
The bouquet is rich and expressive, dominated by notes of currant, sour cherry and ripe strawberry, along with hints of jam-like fruit that enhance depth and concentration. The aromatic profile is clear, vibrant and well-defined, without excess.
On the palate, the wine is smooth and well-balanced. Tannins are soft and integrated, supported by a lively freshness that carries the sip from start to finish. The finish is elegant and persistent, closing on a subtle almond-like note that adds character and complexity.
Crémes is a highly versatile wine, ideal with everyday but high-quality food pairings: stuffed vegetables, legumes, vegetable-based pasta dishes, mushroom tagliatelle, boiled or roasted red meats, beef tagliata and medium-aged cheeses.
A refined and distinctive red wine that combines accessibility with stylistic depth, in true Gaja fashion.
