Bolgheri Rosso “Camarcanda” 2013 Ca’ Marcanda
Camarcanda 2013 is the flagship wine of Ca’ Marcanda, Gaja’s celebrated estate in Bolgheri, Tuscany. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, it embodies both Gaja’s pursuit of precision and the expressive, sun-drenched character of the Maremma coast.
The 2013 vintage offered ideal conditions: a cooler spring followed by a steady, dry summer produced grapes of superb balance and intensity. After careful manual harvesting, each variety was vinified separately and aged in oak for 18 months before blending and bottling.
In the glass, Camarcanda 2013 reveals aromas of ripe blackberry, plum, licorice, tobacco, Mediterranean herbs, and mineral graphite notes. On the palate, it’s powerful yet graceful, with velvety tannins, deep concentration, and a long, saline finish reflecting the maritime influence.
Structured and cellar-worthy, Camarcanda 2013 is one of Bolgheri’s most refined and age-worthy wines — a testament to Angelo Gaja’s vision brought to life on Tuscany’s coast.
