Promis 2021 Magnum Ca’ Marcanda - Gaja
Promis 2021 is the introductory red from Ca’ Marcanda, the Bolgheri estate of Angelo Gaja, yet it stands as a full expression of the estate’s style: polished, approachable, and distinctively Mediterranean.
This vintage combines Merlot, Syrah, and Sangiovese, sourced from the estate’s clay and sandy soils in the coastal region of Maremma. The 2021 growing season brought balanced conditions with optimal ripeness, allowing for expressive fruit and refined structure.
After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine aged for about 12 months in oak barrels and further in bottle, gaining depth and complexity.
Promis 2021 shows a vibrant ruby hue. The nose is rich in ripe red and black berries, with plum, wild herbs, sweet spices, and a hint of balsamic freshness. On the palate, it is velvety, round and juicy, with a pleasant acidity and soft tannins, closing on a mineral and savory note.
