Ca’ Brione 2017 Nino Negri
Ca’ Brione Alpi Retiche IGT 2017 is one of the most distinctive white wines from the historic Valtellina estate Nino Negri. First produced in 1986, this wine is a tribute to the complexity and richness of the Retic Alps’ terroir, located on the right bank of the Adda River.
The soils, born from the ancient collision of the African and European tectonic plates, lend the wine a signature minerality, finesse, and elegance. Ca’ Brione is crafted from an unusual blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Incrocio Manzoni, and a small percentage of Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) vinified in white — a combination that brings structure, freshness, and aromatic richness.
In the glass, it shows a straw yellow color with greenish hues. The bouquet is intense and layered, revealing elderflower, white peach, nectarine, alpine herbs, and pastry notes. On the palate, it’s harmonious, creamy, and sapid, with a long, fresh finish.
Pair it with noble fish, shellfish, bresaola, young cheeses, goat cheese, white meats, and delicate vegetable-based dishes.
