The Bourgogne Chardonnay 2022 Domaine Chanson captures the essence of Burgundy, a region universally celebrated for producing some of the finest Chardonnay wines in the world. The grapes are sourced from diverse sub-regions including Auxerrois, Côte Chalonnaise and Mâconnais, each contributing unique nuances thanks to their clay, limestone and marl soils. In addition, Domaine Chanson owns prized vineyard plots in the Côte Chalonnaise and in Chassagne-Montrachet, areas renowned for their exceptional Chardonnay production.
The 2022 vintage was marked by challenging yet ultimately rewarding climatic conditions. After a winter of fluctuating temperatures, spring alternated between cool and warm spells, with significantly less rainfall than usual. The hot, dry summer was balanced by timely thunderstorms in late August, ensuring grapes reached optimal ripeness. Harvesting, which took place between August 30 and September 13, delivered healthy, concentrated fruit and an abundant crop with excellent quality.
In the glass, the Bourgogne Chardonnay 2022 shows a bright pale golden hue. The bouquet is elegant and layered, offering fresh citrus notes, hints of menthol, delicate white flowers and subtle woody tones. On the palate, it is crisp and dynamic, supported by a harmonious structure and a well-defined acidity that brings both balance and tension.
