Barolo Mosconi Vigna Ped 2019 Conterno Fantino
Barolo Mosconi Vigna Ped by Conterno Fantino is one of the most intense and structured Barolos from Monforte d’Alba. The Vigna Ped parcel lies within the Mosconi cru, between 360 and 400 meters above sea level, on calcareous-clay soils rich in stones, ideal for producing powerful, long-lived Nebbiolo.
Fermentation takes place in large oak vats, with extended maceration, followed by 24 months of aging in French oak barriques and additional bottle refinement. The result is a Barolo of depth, density and age-worthy structure.
In the glass, it shows a deep garnet color. The nose is bold and layered, with aromas of dark plum, blackberry, dried violets, licorice, tar, leather, and earthy spices. The palate is concentrated and powerful, with firm tannins, fresh acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
Mosconi Vigna Ped is a collector’s Barolo, perfect for those who appreciate structure and intensity. It evolves beautifully over the decades, gaining finesse and complexity.
