Barolo Garretti 2018 Magnum La Spinetta
The Barolo Garretti DOCG by La Spinetta is a bold yet elegant Nebbiolo from the Garretti vineyard in Grinzane Cavour, planted with 70-year-old vines on alluvial-calcareous clay soils and exposed to the south.
Harvested from a 4.5-hectare plot, this Barolo undergoes 14–15 days of maceration and fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation and 24 months of aging in second-use French oak barrels. The wine then rests for another 12 months in bottle to refine its complexity.
The bouquet is seductive and layered, with ripe red fruit, sweet spices, floral hints, and subtle balsamic undertones. On the palate, it is generous, structured, and silky, showing the full potential of the Nebbiolo grape in a noble and approachable style.
Perfect with game dishes, truffled egg with cheese fondue, or simply to savor slowly, this wine captures the soul of the Barolo terroir with both power and grace.
