Barbaresco Masseria 2018 Vietti
Vietti’s Barbaresco Masseria is a benchmark Nebbiolo from the Roncaglie cru in the Barbaresco area, one of the most celebrated terroirs in the appellation. The vineyard’s clay-limestone soils and ideal exposure allow for the production of a wine that blends refinement, power, and aromatic complexity.
Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks with an extended maceration period to extract the full character of the Nebbiolo grape. The wine is then aged for 30 months in oak barrels of various sizes before resting in bottle. The result is a Barbaresco of noble structure and finesse, with a balanced expression of both fruit and terroir.
On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe cherry, dried rose petals, sweet spices, licorice and hints of balsamic herbs. The palate is elegant yet powerful, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a persistent mineral finish.
Barbaresco Masseria is ideal with roasted game, braised meats, truffle-based dishes and aged cheeses, or to be enjoyed slowly on its own to appreciate its evolution.
