Arbois Poulsard Vieilles Vignes 2023
The Arbois Poulsard Vieilles Vignes 2023 from Domaine A. & M. Tissot is a pure expression of Jura’s Poulsard varietal. Sourced from historic plots planted between 1942 and 1972, this wine comes from clay-rich soils in the Triassic and Liassic terroirs of “Les Bruyères”, “La Vasée” and “La Mailloche”, with south-east and north-west exposures.
It shows an unusually deep color for Poulsard. The nose is rich with wild cherry, sloe berry, subtle spices, and herbal notes. The palate is fresh and fruit-driven, with elegant tannins and a clean, mineral finish.
Harvested manually, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel with a gentle 17-day maceration. Aging takes place in large foudres and demi-muids for one year. The wine is bottled unfiltered, with no sulfur added at any stage of the process.
Certified biodynamic (Demeter, Ecocert), this wine is alive and characterful. Excellent with smoked charcuterie, pork, grilled meats, or smoked salmon
