Alta Langa Oudeis Brut 2016 Magnum Enrico Serafino
Crafted from hand-selected grapes, 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay, the Alta Langa Oudeis Brut by Enrico Serafino comes from vineyards across Alta Langa (Mango, Trezzo Tinella, Loazzolo, San Giorgio S., Vesime, Bubbio), trained with the Guyot system on clay-calcareous soils.
The winemaking is careful and gentle, with pressing in an inert environment and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes six months of lees aging with bâtonnage, followed by a minimum of 36 months of traditional method bottle aging.
Disgorgement occurs four times per vintage, with dosage prepared using a secret recipe of reserve wines and sugar (6 g/L), without any spirits, giving the wine a refined, balanced sweetness.
In the glass, it shows a straw yellow color with golden reflections and fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is complex and delicate, with notes of yellow flowers, white-fleshed fruit, bread crust, and minerals. The palate is vertical, dry, intense, and structured, with citrus aromas and a long mineral finish.
The name Oudeis, meaning “no one” in Greek, emphasizes that the true source of the wine’s complexity is solely the terroir. This sparkling wine embodies the authentic essence of Alta Langa, balancing complexity and easy drinkability.
