Vindabeive 2021 Valfaccenda
The Vindabeive 2021 by Valfaccenda embodies the most immediate and unfiltered expression of the winery’s philosophy: a red wine focused on drinkability, freshness and pure expression, while maintaining a strong territorial identity. It is produced in the Roero region of Piedmont, from young vineyards planted on sandy soils and from east-facing parcels where cooler conditions enhance finesse and aromatic clarity.
Winemaking is designed to preserve freshness and fragrance. Grapes are processed using a blend of 60% destemmed berries with whole berries and 40% whole clusters, followed by a short 3–4 day carbonic maceration. This technique enhances fruit expression while limiting tannic extraction, resulting in a more agile and immediate profile. During fermentation, three pump-overs in stainless steel are carried out to maintain balance and precision, while the final phase takes place in neutral oak, avoiding any aromatic dominance from wood.
In the glass, it appears as a bright, transparent ruby red, reflecting its light and vibrant style. The nose reveals fresh aromas of crisp cherry, blueberry and violet, accompanied by subtle mineral and herbal hints that recall its Roero origin. The aromatic profile is direct, fragrant and highly inviting.
On the palate, it is fresh, lively and well-balanced, with a light structure supported by bright acidity. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, making the wine extremely smooth and easy to drink. The finish is long, juicy and slightly mineral, with recurring fruity notes that encourage another sip.
The 1-liter format reinforces its philosophy: a wine made for sharing, perfect for picnics, informal meals and everyday conviviality, while still delivering craftsmanship and precision. A youthful interpretation of Nebbiolo (not declared on label), in its most free, energetic and approachable form.
