Vino Rosso "La Svolta" Crealto
La Svolta is one of the flagship wines of Crealto, an artisanal winery located in Alfiano Natta, in the heart of Monferrato. Crafted from old vineyards and produced with meticulous attention, it embodies the character of the local grape variety, which—though not mentioned on the label—is unmistakably expressed in the glass.
Fermentation includes a 20-day maceration in stainless steel, followed by a carefully balanced aging process. Until 2016, the wine matured entirely in large oak casks; from the 2017 vintage onward, 50% ages in terracotta jars and the rest in 15-hl oak barrels for about 12 months, plus an additional 8 months in bottle.
In the glass it shows an intense, bright color. The nose reveals a layered and distinctive aromatic profile with violet and lavender, red berries, light balsamic tones, and a touch of black pepper.
On the palate it delivers vibrant freshness, soft tannins, generous warmth, and a solid, full-bodied structure. The finish is long and persistent, echoing fruity and spicy notes.
La Svolta is remarkably versatile, ideal at 18°C with stewed meat, boiled cuts, and hearty traditional dishes. A true jolly, combining depth, energy, and immediate drinkability.
