Fontecuore Vino Rosso “Il Principe” 2019
The Fontecuore “Il Principe” 2019 is an elegant, mature red wine that reflects the authentic soul of the Canavese region in northern Piedmont. Produced from organically farmed black grape varieties grown on morainic soils, this wine captures both the mineral character of the land and the finesse of careful, sustainable viticulture. The vines are Guyot-trained and cultivated using low-impact agricultural methods that protect the surrounding biodiversity.
The vinification process includes a long maceration on the skins to extract the full aromatic and phenolic potential of the grapes. The wine then matures for over two years in the cellar, where it gains complexity, roundness, and remarkable balance.
In the glass, it shows an intense garnet color, dense and luminous. The nose reveals rich aromas of red fruit in alcohol, earthy undertones, and hints of tobacco and forest floor. The palate is supple and velvety, with soft tannins, good volume, and a lingering finish that combines warmth and finesse.
Aged and expressive, “Il Principe” pairs beautifully with hearty first courses, roasted or stewed meats, or vegan alternatives such as grilled seitan and miso-based vegan cheeses with nuts. A noble and refined red that embodies Fontecuore’s dedication to nature and craftsmanship.
