Trebbiano d’Abruzzo 2022 La Valentina
The Trebbiano d’Abruzzo La Valentina is a true breeze of Abruzzo in a glass, an authentic expression of its terroir and the winery’s sustainable philosophy. Run by Sabatino, Roberto, and Andrea di Properzio, La Valentina manages 55 hectares of vineyards following an eco-friendly approach, using minimal intervention, natural treatments, integrated pest management, and organic fertilization with manure and green manure.
Continuous soil research has allowed the winery to enhance native grape varieties in their ideal environments, ensuring healthy grapes full of personality.
The Trebbiano grapes come from 5 hectares located between San Valentino, Spoltore, and Alanno, in the hilly clay soils of Pescara province. The hand harvest takes place between late August and early September, followed by gentle destemming and soft pressing. Fermentation occurs at low temperatures in stainless steel, where the wine also ages briefly before bottling.
In the glass, it shines with a pale, crystalline straw-yellow hue. The bouquet is bright and fruity, with apple and citrus notes followed by hay and wildflower hints. The palate is fresh, balanced, and savory, with a persistent herbal finish.
A wine that beautifully reflects the wisdom of simplicity — as Paulo Coelho said, “The simplest things are the most extraordinary, and only the wise can see them.”
