The Sauvignon Blanc “Bishop’s Leap” 2022 is a vibrant, tropical and aromatic white wine that perfectly represents the distinctive style of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It is produced in Marlborough, the country’s most famous wine region, known for its cool climate and mineral-rich soils that enhance freshness and aromatic intensity.
The grapes come exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc vines cultivated in the sub-regions of Rapaura, Wairau and Brancott Valley, where alluvial soils with gravel and stones provide excellent drainage. After careful hand-harvesting at optimal ripeness, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve their natural aromas. The wine then matures for several months in stainless steel in a reductive environment to maintain its crispness and fruit purity.
In the glass, it shines a pale straw-yellow color with green reflections. The bouquet bursts with aromas of tropical fruits, passion fruit, citrus, and elderflower, complemented by grassy and herbal undertones. On the palate, it’s juicy, soft and refreshing, with a perfectly balanced acidity and a lingering, aromatic finish.
