Description

Saumur "Les Cormiers" 2019 La Porte Saint Jean

Saumur Les Cormiers 2019 is a red wine made from Cabernet Franc grapes grown in the Loire region of France. The vineyards from which the grapes are sourced are located in the limestone terroir of Saumur, which is characterized by clay soils that lend structure and elegance to the wine.

The Cabernet Franc grapes are grown according to biodynamic viticultural principles to preserve the complexity of the soil. After careful selection, the grapes are hand-picked and destemmed for a long maceration on the skins of about 4 weeks. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels where the wine matures for 12 months.

This red wine has an intense ruby color with purplish highlights. Cherry, currant and violet aromas stand out on the nose, with hints of black pepper and licorice. In the mouth it is soft, fruity, with elegant and silky tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent with hints of cocoa and tobacco.

Thanks to its characteristics, Saumur Les Cormiers 2019 is an ideal wine to accompany red meats, aged cheeses and game. Its great structure and intensity also allow it to be paired with important dishes such as braised meats, stews and roasts. Also excellent for meditation.
