Description

Saumur La Perlée 2020 La Porte Saint Jean

Saumur La Perlée 2020 is a white wine made from Chenin Blanc grapes grown in the Loire region of France. The vineyards from which the grapes come are located in the limestone terroir of Saumur, which gives the wine a unique minerality.

Chenin Blanc grapes are grown according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, without the use of pesticides, to preserve soil biodiversity. After careful selection, the grapes are hand-picked and gently pressed to extract the juice. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels where the wine matures for 8 months on the fine lees, pressing periodically.

This white wine shows a brilliant straw yellow color. Aromas of white flowers, golden apple and citrus fruits stand out on the nose. In the mouth it is fresh, mineral, with notes of honey and white peach. The aftertaste is long and elegant with a sapidity that recalls the limestone present in the terroir.

Thanks to its characteristics, Saumur La Perlée 2020 is an ideal wine as an aperitif, to accompany shellfish and fish or fresh cheeses. Its structure also allows it to pair with more structured white meat dishes.
