Langhe DOC Riesling 2021 Massolino
Massolino’s Langhe DOC Riesling is one of the most captivating white wines produced in the Langhe, born from a genuine passion for this exceptional grape variety. The decision to grow it in the highest vineyard of the estate, at 530 meters above sea level, is crucial: the cooler temperatures and strong diurnal shifts preserve the lively acidity and aromatic tension that make Riesling one of the world’s most age-worthy and admired white wines. The calcareous-leaning soils further enhance its mineral, precise and expressive nature.
Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel, where the wine rests on its fermentation lees for 8–10 months, gaining texture and complexity. A smaller portion matures in terracotta amphorae, adding purity and finesse. The result is a white wine that combines vibrant freshness with a character designed to evolve gracefully over time.
The color ranges from pale to slightly more intense straw yellow depending on the vintage. On the nose, the wine immediately expresses the typical aromatic spectrum of Riesling: refined hydrocarbon hints, strong mineral impressions and a fresh fruity touch in its youth. On the palate, its vertical structure stands out with lively acidity, salinity and an endlessly persistent finish. It is a wine with great drinkability yet built to develop over the years.
Extremely versatile at the table, it pairs beautifully with fish, shellfish, crustaceans, delicate white meats and goat cheeses. Served at 12–15°C, it reveals all its precision and expressive depth.
