PIEVE SANTA RESTITUTA - GAJA
Pieve Santa Restituta, located in the southwestern part of Montalcino, is the Tuscan project of Angelo Gaja, one of Italy’s most legendary wine producers. Acquired in 1994, the estate takes its name from an ancient 11th-century Romanesque church that still stands among the vineyards, symbolizing the deep historical and spiritual roots of the land.
Driven by a philosophy of sustainability, precision and respect for tradition, Pieve Santa Restituta focuses exclusively on Sangiovese Grosso, expressing it through single-vineyard Brunellos like Sugarille – powerful and mineral – and Rennina, elegant and nuanced.
Fermentations are spontaneous, conducted with native yeasts in wooden vats, followed by long aging in large oak casks. Gaja’s signature style — refined, structured, and age-worthy — meets the soul of Montalcino in a dialogue of depth and identity.
Over the years, Pieve Santa Restituta has become one of the most respected and collectible Brunello producers, admired for its purity of expression and visionary winemaking approach.
