List of products by brand MARCO ROSSA
The Marco Rossa Winery was founded in 2012 in Borgomasino, in the heart of Canavese, at the edge of the Ivrea morainic amphitheatre in Piedmont. A small family-run estate cultivating around 2.5 hectares of vineyards, mainly Erbaluce and Nebbiolo, with the aim of reviving a historic hillside landscape now largely covered by woodland.
From the recovery of old vineyards to the construction of the winery in 2016, the project follows a clear philosophy: estate-grown grapes only, fully manual harvest and strong territorial identity.
The first wine was released in 2017 with Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG “Lusenta”.
Today Marco Rossa stands as one of the most authentic artisanal producers in Canavese, crafting wines defined by precision, minerality and terroir expression.
MoreThe Marco Rossa Winery was established in 2012 in Borgomasino (Turin, Piedmont), a small village of around 800 inhabitants located on a hill at the edge of the Ivrea morainic amphitheatre, one of the most remarkable geological formations in northern Italy. In this landscape, where vineyards once dominated before being largely replaced by woodland, the project aims to restore viticulture and revive the historical identity of the area.
What began almost as a personal passion for vines and wine quickly evolved into a structured artisanal winery through the recovery of old vineyards. Over time, additional plots were planted with the clear objective of restoring the agricultural identity of the Canavese hills, gradually reversing decades of abandonment.
From the outset, the philosophy has been straightforward: estate-grown grapes only, no purchased fruit, and full control over every stage of production. Today the estate covers approximately 2.5 hectares of vineyards, managed entirely by the family through hands-on viticulture and winemaking.
Older vineyards are trained using the traditional Canavese pergola system, while newer plantings follow Guyot training in rows, allowing for improved precision and quality control. The main varieties cultivated are Erbaluce and Nebbiolo, the two key grapes of the region and its winemaking identity.
Harvesting is fully manual, with strict selection of bunches directly in the vineyard to ensure only the highest-quality fruit enters the winery. This meticulous approach reflects the estate’s commitment to purity and terroir expression.
The winery itself was built in 2016, marking the transition from agricultural project to fully operational winemaking estate. The following year, in August 2017, the first wine was released: Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG “Lusenta”, the official debut of the Marco Rossa label.
In the cellar, the approach mirrors the vineyard philosophy: minimal intervention, controlled fermentations, and maximum respect for raw material. The goal is not stylistic standardisation, but rather the authentic expression of the Canavese terroir, a relatively undiscovered but highly distinctive wine region.
The wines are strongly defined by the morainic soils of glacial origin, rich in stones, limestone and minerals. This geological structure gives the wines their hallmark freshness, tension and pronounced salinity, consistently present across the range.
The portfolio includes both white and red wines with strong identity: various expressions of Erbaluce di Caluso, Canavese Nebbiolo, and traditional passito wines such as Acinaticium. Each label represents a different facet of the territory, while maintaining stylistic coherence and a recognizable identity.
The winery’s vision is to craft wines that act as authentic ambassadors of Canavese, expressing the region’s complexity through elegance, precision and territorial honesty. Rather than pursuing volume, Marco Rossa focuses on artisanal quality and identity-driven winemaking, balancing tradition with a modern, precise interpretation of terroir.
