Cieck Winery is one of the most distinctive producers in the Canavese area, known for its elegant Erbaluce di Caluso and refined Metodo Classico sparkling wines. Founded in 1985 by Remo Falconieri, it combines craftsmanship, innovation, and respect for nature. Its 13 hectares of pergola-trained vineyards host native Piedmontese varieties such as Erbaluce, Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Freisa. The new eco-friendly cellar in San Giorgio Canavese embodies a sustainable vision that blends technology and tradition. Each vineyard has its own story, and every bottle reflects the essence of Canavese: authentic, vibrant, and deeply rooted in its terroir.

Founded in 1985 in Agliè and now based in San Giorgio Canavese, Cieck Winery is one of the most iconic and authentic wine producers in Piedmont. Created by Remo Falconieri, son of farmers and engineer at Olivetti, the estate began as a small dream — producing traditional method sparkling wines from Erbaluce, the ancient white grape of Canavese. After a learning journey in France, Remo crafted his first vintage in 1985: just 2,500 bottles of Metodo Classico Erbaluce, released two years later. That marked the beginning of a story rooted in craftsmanship, terroir, and family passion.

Today, Cieck manages 13 hectares of vineyards, mostly planted with Erbaluce, along with native red varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Neretto, and Freisa. The vines, grown on moraine soils under pergola trellises, give wines of minerality, tension, and balance. Historic vineyards like Misobolo, Brajassa, Castagnola, Cascinetto, and Biaulej each tell a story — family legacies woven into the landscape.

The winery is run by Remo, Lia Falconieri, and Domenico Caretto, combining tradition, research, and environmental awareness. The new cellar, built in 2013 among the Erbaluce vines, embodies a green, energy-efficient philosophy, using solar panels, phytodepuration, and rainwater recovery systems.

Fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with aging in barriques and tonneaux to enhance depth and finesse. The Metodo Classico sparkling wines rest for months on the lees and undergo manual riddling, a nod to artisanal tradition. The “passitaia” room is dedicated to the natural drying of grapes for Alladium, Cieck’s celebrated Erbaluce Passito, using 19th-century hanging methods.

For Cieck, every vineyard has a soul and every wine tells a story. Passion, craftsmanship, and respect for nature define this Canavese estate, where time and innovation coexist in perfect harmony.
