Vino Rosso "Nino" 2020 Iuli
Nino from Cascina Iuli is the result of Fabrizio Iuli’s bold experiment: in 1999, inspired by his love for Burgundy wines, he planted one hectare of a delicate and noble red grape in the rolling hills of Montaldo di Cerrina in Basso Monferrato. The loose, calcareous-clay soils at 380 meters above sea level proved ideal for producing a wine of remarkable purity, finesse, and freshness.
Following the philosophy of minimal intervention, the grapes ferment naturally with native yeasts in stainless steel, undergoing a 10–12 day maceration. After malolactic fermentation in wood, the wine matures for 16 months in large 1000-liter oak barrels before spending an additional 6 months in bottle, with no fining or filtration.
In the glass, it shows a brilliant ruby-red color with garnet hues. The bouquet is refined and expressive, with aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, violet, and gentle earthy-spicy notes. On the palate, it’s smooth, elegant, and vibrant, driven by a fresh acidity and soft, polished tannins.
Nino embodies the grace of Burgundy and the soul of Monferrato, a wine that seduces with its lightness, depth, and authentic charm. With every sip, Cascina Iuli confirms its talent for creating red wines of character and natural elegance — perfect for those who appreciate refinement and drinkability.
