Moscadello di Montalcino Vendemmia Tardiva “Pascena” 2016 Col d’Orcia
The Moscadello di Montalcino Late Harvest “Pascena” from Col d’Orcia is a wine with deep historical roots dating back to the Renaissance, when it was celebrated as the “divine nectar” of noble ladies and poets. Today, it continues to embody that sense of elegance and indulgence, offering a harmonious blend of richness and freshness.
Made from Moscato Bianco grapes grown on the sunny hills of Sant’Angelo in Colle, the wine comes from a natural on-vine drying process that concentrates sugars and aromas. After gentle pressing, the juice undergoes a slow fermentation at 16°C in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, which is stopped at the desired alcohol level to maintain perfect balance.
It then ages in temperature-controlled vats, followed by an extended bottle refinement, gaining depth and aromatic complexity.
In the glass, it shines bright straw yellow with golden hues, releasing delicate aromas of citrus, peach, apricot, and yellow rose petals.
On the palate, it is silky, sweet yet vibrant, with a fresh acidity that keeps it lively and elegant. The finish is long and mineral, with persistent notes of candied fruit and floral nuances.
Delicious on its own as a meditation wine, it pairs beautifully with blue cheeses, foie gras, fruit tarts, or almond biscuits.
A historic and noble sweet wine that perfectly represents the elegance and craftsmanship of Col d’Orcia.
