La Cuvée des Gueux Rouge 2025 Adrien Berlioz
With La Cuvée des Gueux Rouge 2025, Adrien Berlioz showcases the vibrant personality of Savoie through a harmonious blend of Mondeuse and Persan, two indigenous varieties deeply rooted in the Alpine vineyards surrounding Chignin. Produced from vines planted on limestone-rich soils, this wine perfectly reflects the estate’s commitment to terroir, biodiversity and minimal intervention.
The vineyards are farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles, with meticulous manual work throughout the growing season. Grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted before entering the cellar. During vinification, Adrien includes a proportion of whole clusters in the fermentation, adding aromatic complexity, freshness and refined tannic texture. Fermentation occurs naturally with indigenous yeasts, while ageing is carried out entirely in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity and vibrant fruit character of the blend.
The wine displays a bright ruby-red colour with youthful purple highlights. The nose is expressive and inviting, revealing fresh cherries, ripe plums, wild strawberries and dark berries, layered with hints of mint, black pepper, subtle spice and delicate earthy nuances.
The palate is light on its feet yet remarkably expressive, combining juicy fruit with lively acidity and silky tannins. Crisp flavours of cherry and cranberry are supported by an underlying mineral backbone that carries the wine through a long, fresh and elegant finish.
La Cuvée des Gueux Rouge 2025 is an exceptionally versatile mountain red, pairing beautifully with charcuterie, roasted poultry, grilled meats, mushrooms and Alpine cheeses. It is a vibrant, contemporary interpretation of Savoie’s native grapes and one of Adrien Berlioz’s most approachable yet distinctive wines.
