Sorì Tildin Gaja 2016 Magnum
Sorì Tildin by Gaja is one of the most iconic red wines from the Langhe and a symbol of Italian winemaking excellence. First produced in 1970, it was created by Angelo Gaja as a tribute to his grandmother Clotilde Rey, affectionately known as “Tildin”, who played a key role in supporting the family winery.
The wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grown on a south-facing vineyard in Barbaresco, where limestone and clay-rich soils add depth and elegance. Fermented and aged separately for around 24 months in barriques and large casks, Sorì Tildin reflects the signature Gaja style: structured, refined, and incredibly expressive.
In the glass, it reveals a deep, brilliant ruby color. The nose is layered and complex, with aromas of ripe forest fruits, cherry liqueur, dried violets, licorice, exotic spices, and sweet tobacco. On the palate, it is rich and finely textured, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a persistent, elegant finish.
Sorì Tildin is a collector’s wine, offering extraordinary aging potential and a masterful balance between power and finesse. It embodies Gaja’s vision of blending innovation with heritage, delivering a pure expression of Nebbiolo at its highest level.
