Fleurie Greta Carbo 2019 Domaine Marc Delienne
Domaine Marc Delienne's Fleurie Greta Carbo 2019 is an organic red wine produced in the Beaujolais region, specifically in the Fleurie appellation. The grapes used in the production of this wine are 100% Gamay, sourced from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards.
The vines are grown without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, but rather natural methods are used to maintain the balance of the soil and plants. Biodynamics involves the use of natural preparations, such as plant, compost and animal extracts, to promote soil fertility and plant health.
Grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected before being brought to the winery. Once here, the grapes undergo pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures for about 5-6 days. Thereafter, fermentation occurs spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts present on the grape skins. The fermentation process lasts about 15 days and takes place in concrete tanks.
After fermentation, the wine is racked and placed in French oak barrels for aging for about 10 months. During this period, the wine undergoes slight oxidation, which helps develop aromatic and flavor complexity.
The 2019 Fleurie Greta Carbo from Domaine Marc Delienne shows a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of red fruits, such as strawberries and cherries, accompanied by spicy and earthy notes. In the mouth, it is elegant and fresh, with good structure and soft tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent, with a pleasant mineral note.
