Etna Rosso San Lorenzo 2018 Girolamo Russo
Etna Rosso "San Lorenzo" is obtained from almost all Nerello Mascalese grapes with a small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio, which come from the Contrada San Lorenzo in the municipality of Randazzo. The vines are located at an altitude of 800 m above sea level, on soil rich in mineral salts, with significant temperature excursions between day and night.
Etna Rosso San Lorenzo ferments spontaneously using only indigenous yeasts in steel, with maceration on the skins for 13 days, and then matures for 20 months in French oak barriques plus at least 6 months in the bottle.
Etna Rosso "San Lorenzo" has a ruby red colour with garnet highlights, while the nose offers a multifaceted bouquet with the characteristic fruity notes of blackberry, plum and currant which are accompanied by mineral, spicy and herbal notes of mint and leather. The sip is enveloping and very mineral.
