Etna Rosso "'A Rina" 2019 Girolamo Russo
'A Rina is the "basic" version of the Etna Rosso range produced by Girolamo Russo. Despite this, it is an excellent version of Etna red wine, a wine of great elegance, good complexity and distinct personality.
It is made from 95% Nerello Mascalese plus 5% Nerello Cappuccio from the vineyards of San Lorenzo, Feudo, Feudo di Mezzo and Calderara Sottana on the northern slopes of Etna. The vines are between 50 and 100 years old and grow on volcanic and sandy soil rich in minerals, at altitudes between 650 and 800 metres above sea level with significant temperature variations between day and night.
The concentration of the grapes at the time of harvest is remarkable, and this gives the wine a complex and aromatic bouquet with scents of cherry, plum, tobacco, leather and mineral notes. The taste is elegant and complex, fresh with silky tannins and a persistent finish.
