Domaine Les 4 Vents Les Pitchounettes Rouge 2024 is produced in Mercurol, at the heart of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, where Syrah has long found one of its finest expressions. Here, Domaine Les 4 Vents continues a family story rooted in the vineyards of the Northern Rhône. After generations devoted to growing grapes for local cooperatives and négociants, Lucie and Nancy began bottling their own wines in 2010, giving voice to a distinctive interpretation of their terroir.
The estate follows a philosophy based on respect for nature and the integrity of the fruit. The vineyards are farmed with sustainable practices, grapes are harvested by hand, and fermentation relies on indigenous yeasts to preserve the vineyard's natural identity. Winemaking remains deliberately restrained, allowing the vintage and the land to speak with clarity.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby colour with youthful violet reflections. The nose is expressive yet refined, revealing aromas of blackberry, raspberry and cherry layered with notes of black pepper, violet, cinnamon and subtle hints of Mediterranean herbs. The aromatic profile is vibrant and well defined, balancing fruit and spice with elegance.
On the palate, the wine is generous without excess. Fine-grained tannins provide structure, while bright acidity brings freshness and length. The finish is persistent, echoing the peppery and mineral nuances that are characteristic of Crozes-Hermitage, leaving a precise and harmonious impression.
Les Pitchounettes Rouge 2024 is a genuine expression of Northern Rhône Syrah, combining purity of fruit, freshness and terroir-driven complexity. It pairs naturally with roasted meats, lamb, game birds, artisanal charcuterie and medium-aged cheeses, offering a refined yet approachable interpretation of one of France's most celebrated wine regions.
