Côtes du Jura "La Graviere" Chardonnay Magnum 2019 Ganevat
"La Graviere" is a white wine from the Jura, produced by Jean-François Ganevat from Chardonnay grapes. The grapes from which this wine is made are purchased from friends of Jean-François, who share his same philosophy of organic and biodynamic farming.
The Chardonnay clone for this wine is called Chardonnay Muscate, and as the name suggests it creates a much more fragrant wine than one would expect from this variety. Very fragrant and aromatic, this wine is one that is sure to broaden the horizon of even the most experienced Chardonnay drinker.
Cotes du Jura "La Graviere" is vinified naturally and aged for 30 months in barrels on its lees. The subtle nose offers aromas of ripe apple, butter, candied lemon and smoky notes. The palate is lively and offers a soft, airy texture that balances beautifully with sharp acidity. It holds the palate until the finish to which it gives a chalky feel and develops a lovely grapefruit bitterness.
