CHAMPAGNE DOM PERIGNON 2008 MOET ET CHANDON

MOET & CHANDON
DPO08

Dom Pérignon creates only Vintage Champagne, made from the best grapes selected in a single vintage.

He never stops reinventing himself, to always interpret the exclusive character of each season. He rejects compromises, renouncing the creation of the Millesimato when the harvest is not up to it.

After at least eight years of elaboration, the wine reaches a perfect balance, the most beautiful promise of the Maison. This is Dom Pérignon Vintage, the Plénitude of Harmony.

Description

Dom Perignon 2008 Moet & Chandon

Dom Perignon Champagne is certainly the most famous bubbly in the world, a world reference in the world of vintage champagne. The famous bottle of Dom Perignon is a status symbol, synonymous with luxury all over the world. The name comes from the Benedictine monk Dom Perignon who, according to legend, invented champagne, and still today the production takes place in the abbey of Hautvillers.

The history of Dom Perignon Champagne as we know it begins in 1936, when the president of the maison Moet & Chandon, Robert-Jean de Vogue, decided to create a unique cuvée, produced with only the best grapes of 1921; since then Dom Perignon champagne is produced as a vintage and produced only in the best vintages. The grapes of the cuvée come from the Maison's Grand Cru soils and a part of Pinot Noir from the vineyards of the Hautvillers Abbey from Premier Cru soils. The vinification takes place in stainless steel vats before being left for at least 6 years in the bottle on the yeasts. The attention to the vines, the care taken during the harvest and the passion for winemaking make it possible to create this fine, classy bubbles with an almost infinite ageing potential. Each bottle fully represents the vintage from which it is produced, which is why no other vintage is the same.

The Champagne Dom Perignon is intense, rich and complex with more or less minerality depending on how much Chardonnay is present in the vintage of reference, in the calcec is bright straw yellow with golden hues, the nose alternates hints of fresh almond, candied lemon and smoky and toasted notes. In the mouth it is an energetic, powerful and enveloping champagne, with a long intense finish.
