Chambolle-Musigny 2021 Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron
The Chambolle-Musigny 2021 by Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron is a refined expression of Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits, combining the natural elegance of the appellation with the domaine’s precise, terroir-focused approach. Chambolle-Musigny is renowned for wines that unite silky texture, aromatic finesse and depth, relying more on grace and precision than sheer power.
This cuvée is made from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from three Chambolle-Musigny parcels — Derrière la Four, Les Pas de Chats and Les Condemennes — covering approximately 1.15 hectares in total. The soils, marked by limestone, stones and sand, provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s aromatic definition, elegance and mineral character.
The grapes are hand harvested. In the cellar, Confuron follows a vinification designed to preserve fruit purity: a short 3–4 day cold maceration precedes fermentation, which lasts approximately 14 days before pressing. After 48 hours of settling, the wine is transferred into French oak barrels for ageing, with 50% new oak according to the technical specifications of the cuvée.
The wine displays an intense ruby-red colour. Its bouquet combines red fruit and dried fruit with delicate spicy nuances, while the palate reveals an especially compelling balance between sweetness, lightness and density. The texture is soft and silky, yet remains vibrant thanks to a clear mineral backbone. The finish is long, precise and persistent, leaving an elegant impression. Available tasting notes for the 2021 vintage likewise highlight its refined character, pure fruit, silky tannins and fresh mineral thread.
