Fontecuore Canavese Nebbiolo “Pegaso” 2017
The Fontecuore Canavese Nebbiolo “Pegaso” 2017 is a refined expression of Nebbiolo from the Canavese area in northern Piedmont, where glacial soils rich in pebbles and clay shape wines of distinctive minerality and depth. Fontecuore follows an environmentally conscious philosophy, using low-impact viticultural practices and Guyot-trained vines, maintaining a perfect balance between vineyard and nature.
Harvested by hand in late October, the Nebbiolo grapes are carefully destemmed and softly crushed. Fermentation takes place with the skins for about eight days, allowing the extraction of the grape’s natural color and aromatic richness. The wine then matures for over 12 months in the cellar, gaining structure and complexity.
In the glass, it displays a bright garnet hue with lighter edges. The bouquet reveals blackberry, ripe red fruit, and subtle vanilla, evolving into delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, it is velvety and expressive, with smooth tannins and a long, elegant finish.
A wine of great elegance and balance, the “Pegaso” Nebbiolo reflects the soul of the Canavese terroir — vibrant, structured, and harmonious. It pairs beautifully with roast meats, aged cheeses, or vegan alternatives such as walnut ragù pasta and roasted tofu.
