Barolo Ginestra Vigna del Gris 2018 Conterno Fantino
Barolo Vigna del Gris by Conterno Fantino is a refined, expressive Barolo from a single vineyard within the celebrated Ginestra cru in Monforte d’Alba. Positioned at around 300 meters altitude, the site features calcareous-clay soils and excellent exposure, producing a more delicate and approachable Nebbiolo, while maintaining depth and character.
Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified in large oak fermenters with extended maceration. The wine ages for 24 months in French oak barriques, followed by further bottle aging to ensure balance and elegance.
In the glass, it displays a bright garnet color. Aromas include ripe red berries, rose petals, sweet spices, dried herbs, and a mineral undertone. The palate is silky and harmonious, with soft tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, polished finish.
Vigna del Gris is a Barolo that offers earlier drinkability compared to other Monforte crus, yet with the structure to age gracefully. It’s an ideal choice for lovers of refined, terroir-driven Barolo with a modern touch.
