Description

Barolo Cannubi San Lorenzo Ravera 2007 Giuseppe Rinaldi

Barolo Cannubi San Lorenzo Ravera by Giuseppe Rinaldi is one of the most important Barolo wines in Italy, a territorial expression that combines the austerity typical of great Piedmontese wines with great refinement. A few thousand bottles are produced each year, this is because the winery of the late Beppe Rinaldi adopts a non-interventionist style that gives us a spontaneous and deep wine.

The Giuseppe Rinaldi winery, now run by Carlotta and Marta Rinaldi, daughters of the legendary citric, was founded in the early 1800s with the purchase of the first vineyards, and year after year they have won a place in the hearts of all fans of the great Nebbiolo di Langa, especially during the period when the winery was run by the legendary Beppe Rinaldi.

Barolo Rinaldi Cannubi San Lorenzo Ravera is a blend wine with grapes coming from vineyards of three different important crus: Ravera, Cannubi and San Lorenzo; from the 2010 vintage the name of this fine wine will become Barolo Tre Tine as the legislation forbids to write the name of all three crus on the label, although the blend is a Langa tradition.

In the vineyard, invasive approaches are avoided as much as possible, and chemical treatments are strictly forbidden, in fact only copper and sulphur are used. In the cellar the philosophy is the same: natural vinification with indigenous yeasts and long maceration of at least 30 days without temperature control, followed by a long aging in large oak barrels for about 42 months.

Barolo Cannubi San Lorenzo Ravera Rinaldi is a red wine tending to garnet red, the nose is dog rose, cherry and balsamic notes, in the mouth is full, robust but incredibly refined, one of the most famous Italian wines, a masterpiece of the great cellar of Beppe Rinaldi.
